My beloved shoegaze is making a comeback. Throbbing droning static drenched fuzz that gives the sensation of speed by way of souped up straight tail pipe muscle car power. So OK it's filled with mopey mop top nerds, but hey! Here's two tracks: Sweet Girl and Some Kind of Sad (demo).

Mr. Gnome
Comparisons abound, pfft! Make no mistake, Mr. Gnome has their own sound: yin & yang, tension & release, war & peace, mosh & gaze, and yes man & woman. A band who understands dynamics? o_O
Pterodactyl
Undeservingly underrated. Stupefyingly brilliant use of the correct mix of melody, dissonance, feedback, noise, and rhythm. Plenty of freely downloadable material here. I love it all, but three succeed stands out as a favorite.
lcd soundsystem
Electronic funk with popish hooks, winks at the 80s, yet has a very fresh sound. Well written lyrics and tight production round off a sweet listening experience.
The Ponys
post punk garage rock - reverb heavy, noise, and static laced guitar rock - great set of "in-studio" live like recordings here
Pelican
Heavy (post-metal) instrumentalists with a distinctive sound known for its dense combinations of different melodies and extended track lengths.
David Bazan
well done emo - of Pedro the Lion fame - something to say
The French Kicks
NY indie pop - fantastic live - smooth vocalist - makes the girls dance
The Angels of Light
took a few listens for these guys to sink in - difficult to compare to other artists - if i had to stretch, i'd say a little talking headish
Caribou
Psychedelic electronic rock - reminiscent of 60's era sugar pop.
